Maedhros therefore, being in anguish without hope, begged Fingon to shoot him with his bow; and Fingon strung an arrow and bent his bow. And seeing no better hope he cried to Manwë, saying: “O King to whom all birds are dear, speed now this feathered shaft, and recall some pity for the Noldor in their need!” ………………
This is one of my favourite Silmarillion scenes… I always get goosebumps when I read it. I’ve been trying to draw it for a long time, unsuccessfully. This time though I am very happy with the result. I had a google reference for the pose, but in the end, mine came out a lot different. Let’s just pretend that the big sword he certainly had with him is on the other side. And that he dropped the harp somewhere. …………………………….
Beautiful work! I like everything : Fingon's expression, his flowing hair, the details in his clothes... It's one of my fave scenes too. I love Fingon for going to help Maedhros.
Thank you so much, I am glad you like it! It was indeed so brave of him; I love him for it too. He truly values friendship highly, and that is such a wonderful trait to have. He risked so many things for Maedhros. I admire him for it.
Thank you very much! The truth is that I looked at myself in the mirror some times to see how this expression would be and then I tried getting it down on paper. I'm glad you like it!
